Due to long term mining activities in Paomaling mining area in Feixian county, destruction of natural landforms, decline in hydrological functions, scarcity of soil resources, and degradation of vegetation communities are more prominent. It will weaken automatic regulation ability of ecosystems. Based on the theory of restoration ecology, combining with the concept of integrated protection and restoration of mountains, waters, forests, fields, lakes, grasses, and sands in Yimeng Mountain area. Taking Paomaling mining area in Feixian county in Yimeng mountain area as the research object, the principles of material energy conversion and material energy cycle are adopted to analyze the causes and mechanism of ecological degradation, clarify close relationship between various elements in the "mountains, waters, forests, fields, lakes, grasses, and sands" community of life, and propose an ecological restoration idea of "reshaping ecological landforms, reconstructing ecological water bodies, reorganizing ecological soils, and rebuilding ecological vegetation" integrated protection and system governance. It is expected to gradually restore ecological environment of the original green mountains and waters, promote the return of the ecosystem to positive succession, and enhance the diversity, stability, and sustainability of the ecosystem.
